The Old Exchange
This site is for my own holiday cottages, and it is the site that I have tested many of my theories in search engine optimisation. It is interesting for the number of searches that it appears for, (over 35 ): whether it is Google, MSN, or Yahoo - this website is designed to gain lots of targetted traffic
click on the image or name of the accommodation to look at the website. |

Helensdale
Sometimes the location of a cottage is just so special that it is my job to try to portray that in my design. In this case the cottage overlooks a beautiful bay with stunning views as the sun sets over the Irish Sea. This website is optimised for the term " luxury self catering scotland " It achieved a Google page 1 listing within just a few weeks and the bookings have been very strong in its first year. |

Gelston Lodge holiday cottages dumfries and galloway
Four lovely cottages nestled in the hills close to Auchencairn, Donald and Charlotte have become very good friends of mine since I was commisioned their website. This was their first venture into self catering cottages and as such I was able to guide them through the complexities of tourism to help them avoid the pitfalls of the business that most of us learn by experience. I persuaded them that they did not need to use old magazine and paper based advertising, but that there was more than sufficient customers available through a well optimised web presence. This is now their second year and they are so happy with the level of bookings they achieve. |

Whitecairn
This website was designed to give a corporate identity to Whitecairn and in the process provide a vehicle to promote their services of Static Caravan Transport and Timber Holiday Lodge Sales. There is a divided navigation from the home page to take you to either the sales or the transport pages. |

Queenshill Edinburgh
I first met the owner of this accommodation as a business advisor to the Scottish Tourist Board (Visit Scotland) My role was to advise tourism businesses how to make the most from online oportunities, how to capture a part of the huge online market that surfs the web each day just looking for exactly what you have to offer. Together we have developed this website and we are always looking at ways we can develop the site and any online oportunities. |

Douglas House
This site is designed for a particular type of customer in mind, and is optimised around just a few, but well aimed terms. These terms are strong enough to provide substantial interest. I once attended an SEO lecture (I was not speaking) and this site was used as the main example of 'the perfectly optimised website'. Not a bad compliment from a SEO expert I did not know .Try searching on the internet for ' bed and breakfast castle douglas ' There are only 85 searches a week made for this term but if you are a bed and breakfast in any town, could you make use of another 85 potential customers a week. Try the search yourself, for your town - Is your website appearing - call us if it isn't and we'll sort it out!!! |

Royal Mile Apartments
A wonderful selection of the best self catering apartments in Edinburgh. My role was to display each of the apartments to bring out the character of each, also optimise each single page to bring in potential customers. So every page is optimised and targeted to its perfect customer. What does that mean? well I have manipulated the text and the meta tags so that when you search for a particular phrase the relevant page appears in the search. For instance if you search for " 4 star accommodation in edinburgh " this website listing is both at the top of the page by the map and also in the organic listing on page 1., this is the case for every page of the website. |

Glen Auchie
this website is www.mullofgalloway.co.uk and besides being optimised to be found when you type in ' mull of galloway' it is also optimised for ' cottage holiday scotland' this is a search term that is typed into google over 800 times each week (the old exchange is also present on this search term) - This website has details of the holiday cottage and Diane's Bed and Breakfast East Muntloch. There is a live availability calendar and an online for to book straight away...... to me it's all about business, getting as many customers to your business as a website possibly can. Diane is also very good at changing parts of her website herself. |

Auld School House
this property has a unique selling point, it is located close to a beach front in Sandhead. So my website www.familyfriendlybeachhouses.co.uk optimisation worked on this unique selling point. Try looking at this search term 'family friendly beach house' it is not used by vast numbers but if you are looking for that type of holiday, and you find a property that exactly matches your request then you are highly likely to purchase a holiday there. It also was the first of my websites that featured very large images of the property which are increasingly important in business website design. |

Of course web design is also about the quality of the website design. But we firmly beleive that unless you can get potential customers to see your website the site then has to be so attractive and show the product in its best light in order to turn that viewer into a purchasing customer. I hope you can see the quality of our webdesign as well as our ability to get customers to the websites. www.luxuryholidaycottages-scotland.com is a good example of the quality of the images of the property. We are fanatical about images - we usually take all the photos for our webdesign ourselves. Try searching on the internet for ' luxury holiday cottage scotland' 300 searches a week are made for this term. |
